The Quinta da Meia Eira has 3 main rooms.
Reception
room
(the land room)
To welcome you upon your arrival we greet you in the Land Room.
In this room you will find agricultural tools and a photographic
exhibition that will give you some knowledge regarding the agriculture
of the islands, places to visit and activities available on Faial
and Pico.
There is also a card-table for such games as cards, dice, domino,
etc.

Reading room (the
sea room)
This room is located in the main house. Its glassed southern façade
and its balcony provide you with a magnificent view over the agricultural
fields and the ocean. Its decoration reflects the sea and here
you can find books, cd’s, a piano and a guitar.

Dining room
With its southern and western glassed façade, this room
has a view over the garden and the horizon. Breakfast is served
here.

From the terrace you can appreciate the best views of the Mount
of Castelo Branco, the ocean, Pico and the surroundings of the
Quinta da Meia Eira.
From here you can also do some bird watching, whale watching and
look out for yachts crossing the ocean.

The Azorean agriculture during the 16th through 19th centuries
was marked by its grain production.
Due
to the growth of cattle breeding, the threshing-floors began to
lose their importance. Because of this our “Eira”
was reduced to half a circle, almost of no use or meaning. This
is a symbolic fact that shows the agricultural evolution of the
archipelago. The half circle threshing-floor, of which the “Quinta”
derives its name from, is therefore a memory of the past that
has left us, by chance, with a portrait of who we were and what
we are.
There is an undeniable presence of the “Eira” that
connects the houses, gardens and terrace. All of this together
gives life to the Quinta.
