The Quinta da Meia Eira consists of 2 houses and 60.000 m2 of fields that reach the sea. It is a rare combination due to its dimension and location, which brings together Nature and Man.

The two houses date back to the nineteenth century, completely renovated between 1998 through 2003 in order to guarantee safety and living standards. In remodelling the houses, some whaling architecture was introduced; a traditional architecture of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries of the islands of Faial and Pico.

The agricultural land is diverse, mainly dedicated to cattle breeding and dairy production, an ex-libris of the Azores, which assures a special breakfast.

Here you can find some small agricultural displays, namely while you playing pasture golf.

The limit of the land is the sea…

The garden that surrounds the house includes a vegetable garden, leisure areas, a terrace and a threshing floor “Eira” which gives the Quinta its name.
